Conductor:
1- It is free from oxide film in normal atmosphere.
2- It is ductile and does not easily break when bent sharply. It can be drawn in to fine wires.
3- it can be soldered easily.

Conductor Construction:

• Solid: The conductor is made of one solid wire i.e for 1.50 sq.mm conductor there will be one wire of 1.38mm diameter and its denoted as 1/1.38mm.
• Standard: The conductor is made of several wire(stands) laid up together,here six stand are laidaround one central stand. For 1.50mm conductor there will be 7 stand of 0.53mm.dia each and it is denoted as 7/0.53mm.
• Flexible: The conductor is made of several wire twisted to gethere is one direction i.e for 1.50sq.mm there will be 30 wire of 0.25mm dia. each and it is denoted as 30/.25mm.
